These changes were obtained by running a script created by
Ulf Magnusson <Ulf.Magnusson@nordicsemi.no> for the following
specification:
1. Read the contents of all dts_fixup.h files in Zephyr
2. Check the left-hand side of the #define macros (i.e. the X in
#define X Y)
3. Check if that name is also the name of a Kconfig option
3.a If it is, then do nothing
3.b If it is not, then replace CONFIG_ with DT_ or add DT_ if it
has neither of these two prefixes
4. Replace the use of the changed #define in the code itself
(.c, .h, .ld)
Additionally, some tweaks had to be added to this script to catch some
of the macros used in the code in a parameterized form, e.g.:
- CONFIG_GPIO_STM32_GPIO##__SUFFIX##_BASE_ADDRESS
- CONFIG_UART_##idx##_TX_PIN
- I2C_SBCON_##_num##_BASE_ADDR
and to prevent adding DT_ prefix to the following symbols:
- FLASH_START
- FLASH_SIZE
- SRAM_START
- SRAM_SIZE
- _ROM_ADDR
- _ROM_SIZE
- _RAM_ADDR
- _RAM_SIZE
which are surprisingly also defined in some dts_fixup.h files.
Finally, some manual corrections had to be done as well:
- name##_IRQ -> DT_##name##_IRQ in uart_stm32.c

All labels containing "_<8-hex-digits>_" or "16550_<3or6-hex-digits>_"
in their names, assumed to be generated by the extracting script,
are updated with the DT_ prefix, to reflect the recent changes made
to the script.

The Zephyr configuration system uses many different files in many
different formats. It makes it a lot easier for users to understand
what these files do if when we use the correct file extensions.
To this end we rename the dts.fixup files to the correct file
extension '.h'.
This is a breaking change for out-of-tree fixup files. Such files will
be detected and given an appropriate error message.

To move forward and remove use of Kconfig in dts files lets just create
SoC specific dtsi files that the boards can include. We also seperate
out the F1 dtsi files into their own dir.

This change aims at fixing 'unit_address_vs_reg' warning in
STM32 based boards.
This warning pops up when a node name is made up with an address
(node_name@xx) but does not contain a reg property.
This case was encountered for led nodes for instance,
where a reg property has no meaning.
Fix this by changing node_name@xx to node_name_xx which removes the
guilty '@xx' syntax but preserves node_name uniqueness.

The old GCC ARM Embedded website on launchpad
(https://launchpad.net/gcc-arm-embedded) has been superseeded by the new
GNU Arm Embedded one
(https://developer.arm.com/open-source/gnu-toolchain/gnu-rm).
This also means a change of name from "GCC" to "GNU". Reflect this in
the enviroment variables so that the proper term is used henceforth.

Both variables were used (with the same value) interchangeably
throughout CMake files and per the discussion in GH issue,
ZEPHYR_BASE is preferred.
Also add a comment with explanation of one vs. the other.
Tested by building hello_world for several boards ensuring no errors.

Unquoted string defaults work through a quirk of Kconfig (undefined
symbols get their name as their string value), but look confusing. It's
done inconsistently now too.

The test "net/utils" fails to build on olimexino_stm32
due to "region `SRAM' overflowed by 192 bytes".
Disabling I2C and SPI on board level the test build fine.
Moreover, according to issue #6858, we will only configure
board valuable HW and connectors on board level and the
user should enable what is needed on application level.

This moves and merges the existing board-level dts.fixup files
for STM32 F1 SOC family into one soc family level dts.fixup file.
No new fixup blocks have been added, only fixup blocks, that were
part of at least one board level dts.fixup file are present in
soc family level dts.fixup file.

Instead of accessing the environment variable ZEPHYR_BASE every time we
require accessing the source code root, use an intermediate variable
that has OS path separators correctly set to '/' to avoid issues on
Windows.
Note: This removes the ZEPHYR_SOURCE_DIR CMake variable. External
applications using that will need to change to use the new ZEPHYR_BASE
variable.

olimexino_stm32 was not getting the flash base address from the Kconfig
variable. Since the board uses DTS that will get set, so we can use the
standard openocd.board.cmake.

The old way of constructing FLASH_SCRIPT_ENV_VARS was corrupting the
values that were passed to the flasher. This new method is the
standard way of creating a dictionary/hashmap in CMake and does not
suffer from the same problem.

Introducing CMake is an important step in a larger effort to make
Zephyr easy to use for application developers working on different
platforms with different development environment needs.
Simplified, this change retains Kconfig as-is, and replaces all
Makefiles with CMakeLists.txt. The DSL-like Make language that KBuild
offers is replaced by a set of CMake extentions. These extentions have
either provided simple one-to-one translations of KBuild features or
introduced new concepts that replace KBuild concepts.
This is a breaking change for existing test infrastructure and build
scripts that are maintained out-of-tree. But for FW itself, no porting
should be necessary.
For users that just want to continue their work with minimal
disruption the following should suffice:
Install CMake 3.8.2+
Port any out-of-tree Makefiles to CMake.
Learn the absolute minimum about the new command line interface:
$ cd samples/hello_world
$ mkdir build && cd build
$ cmake -DBOARD=nrf52_pca10040 ..
$ cd build
$ make

Stop using CONFIG_I2C_x_DEFAULT_CFG to get the initial value. Since we
only support master mode we always default to it for initial config and
we get the bitrate from the device tree.

Right now we allow for the I2C subsystem to be built without any drivers
enabled that utilize it. When we added support for the new STM32 I2C
driver we forced the I2C driver to be enabled if the I2C subsystem was
enabled. While this makes a reasonable amount of sense, it breaks
current assumptions for various testcases that we need to cleanup.

defconfigs.

Converted over all STM32F1 based boards to use device tree and removed
associated bits that now come from the device tree for STM32F1. Also
renamed the STM32F10{3,7} SoC dtsi to try and make it clear that the 'X'
is a place holder. Fixedup the top level compatiables in the boards to
be the specific 'X' instead of the generic one.

* Nucleo f103rb
* STM3210C Eval
* STM32 MINI A15

Provide BUT button and LED1, LED2 leds defines in order to get
basic samples "blinky" and "button" available on olimexino_stm32.
Defines have been named in order to match with board printing.
Aliases are provided to get compatibility with zephyr sample code.

Replace the existing Apache 2.0 boilerplate header with an SPDX tag
throughout the zephyr code tree. This patch was generated via a
script run over the master branch.
Also updated doc/porting/application.rst that had a dependency on
line numbers in a literal include.
Manually updated subsys/logging/sys_log.c that had a malformed
header in the original file. Also cleanup several cases that already
had a SPDX tag and we either got a duplicate or missed updating.

There was a misalignment between Zephyr UART device numbering and
SoC UART IP. Device "UART_1" was mapped to IP USART_2, which could
be confusing for user.
This commit allows to align "UART_1" to IP USART_1.
Change is propagated to all STM32F103RB/STM32F401RE based boards and
respective pinmux drivers

STM32Cube uses SoC defines made to reflect HW heterogeneity
that should be taken into account by SW.
Aim of this commit is to adapt values used by Zephyr to the same
diversity. This will help create new SoC values only when justified
by a real hardware difference that should be taken into account
by software.
For instance, for SoC stm32f103rb following define is used:
*STM32F103xB
Which means:
*Same SW could be used on STM32F103RB and STM32F103VB:
same CONFIG_SOC could be used
*Different SW should be used on STMF103RB and STM32F103R4:
different CONFIG_SOC should be used
This change focuses on stm32f1xx series.

Introduce an architecture sorting of boards. This is to allow for
easier maintenance going forward as the number of boards grows. It
will be easier for any scripts to know the board/arch mapping without
having to maintain an explicit list of what boards are associated with
which arch. We can also do things like have architecture maintainers
cover reviews and branches for arch/${ARCH} and boards/${ARCH} going
forward.
