Several places in the code have constructions like this:
if (bool_variable) {
atomic_set_bit(flags, FLAG);
} else {
atomic_clear_bit(flags, FLAG);
}
To reduce the amount of code for such situations, introduce a new
atomic_set_bit_to() helper which lets you condense the above five
lines to a single one:
atomic_set_bit_to(flags, FLAG, bool_variable);

Basic test for poll() behavior. UDP sockets are used for simplicity
so far (poll-related paths for UDP and TCP are similar, though later
adding TCP explicitly for full coverage may be useful).

The idea is that we should have many, many tests. The only reasonable
way to achieve that is by making tests easy and pleasant to write,
and that requires common, easy to reuse infrastructure.

1. Consistently use prepare_sock helpers.
2. Test not just client->server sending, but sending reply.
3. Send large packets (>1 net_buf fragment), not just small.
4. Check POSIX behavior on recv()ing datagram incompletely (the rest
should be discarded and next recv() should read next datagram.
5. More cleanroom testing, e.g. explicitly reinitialize input params
on each call (without assumptions that they're left with suitable
values from previous calls), clear input buffers before each read
operations, etc.
6. Reformat code. Previously it was very sparse, giving long test
functions, and thus impression that tests are complicated and hard
to write.

slightly hacked to automatically understand whether only int1 is
configured or both int1 and int2.

The original implementation allows a list to be corrupted by list
operations on the removed node. Existing code attempts to avoid this by
using external state to determine whether a node is in a list, but this
is fragile and fails when the state that holds the flag value is changed
after the node is removed, e.g. in preparation for re-using the node.
Follow Linux in invalidating the link pointers in a removed node. Add
API so that detection of particpation in a list is available at the node
abstraction.
This solution relies on the following steady-state invariants:
* A node (as opposed to a list) will never be adjacent to itself in a
list;
* The next and prev pointers of a node are always either both null or
both non-null.

the function that has been renamed in the nrf_rtc_timer driver.

There is an effort underway to make most of the Zephyr build script's
reentrant. Meaning, the build scripts can be executed multiple times
during the same CMake invocation.
Reentrancy enables several use-cases, the motivating one is the
ability to build several Zephyr executables, or images, for instance a
bootloader and an application.
For build scripts to be reentrant they cannot be directly referencing
global variables, like target names, but must instead reference
variables, which can vary from entry to entry.
Therefore, in this patch, we replace global targets with variables.

Prolong by 1 second the BT encrypted connection test, to ensure
there is enough time for the link itself to be encrypted.
Before this change the key was exchanged, but the 1st notification
(pass condition) was received before the link itself was encrypted.
With this change we wait for 1 notification more (1 second more),
and during that extra second the link is actually encrypted.

printk is supposed to be very lean, but should at least not
print garbage values. Now when a 64-bit integral value is
passed in to be printed, 'ERR' will be reported if it doesn't
fit in 32-bits instead of truncating it.
The printk documentation was slightly out of date, this has been
updated.

Apart from normal customizations of vendor specific parameters in ADC
configuration used in the test, a few more changes in test cases were
also introduced in commit 1bfa34f4fb.
This resulted in some parts of ADC API (like zero interval between
consecutive samplings) not being tested at all. This commit restores
the original behavior of the test cases (with added comments that
zero intervals are intentional).

Currently only nRF drivers need assignments of analog inputs to ADC
channels (ADC_CONFIGURABLE_INPUTS Kconfig option is activated only for
these drivers). Hence, there is no need to define ADC_xxx_CHANNEL_INPUT
labels for any other ADC driver as they will be ignored anyway.
