The difference between low power and suspend states is a thin blur line
that is is not clear and most drivers have used indistinctly. This patch
converges to the usage of the suspend state for low power, since
contrary to the low power state, it is used by both system and runtime
device PM. The low power state is still kept, but its future is unclear
and needs some discussion.

The device PM control function will only be called if the requested
state is different from the current one. A significant amount of drivers
were checking for state changes, now unnecessary. This patch removes all
this redundant logic.

The device PM subsystem already holds the device state, so there is no
need to keep duplicates inside the device. The pm_device_state_get has
been refactored to just return the device state. Note that this is still
not safe, but the same applied to the previous implementation. This
problem will be addressed later.

Move all PM_DEVICE_STATE_* definitions to an enum. The
PM_DEVICE_STATE_SET and PM_DEVICE_STATE_GET definitions have been kept
out of the enum since they do not represent any state. However, their
name has not been changed since they will be removed soon.
All drivers and tests have been adjusted accordingly.

actually the power state. Just use it and avoid a lot of

Limit the maximum SPI frequency to that supported by the instance
hardware. This stops peripherals supporting >8MHz on slow instances
from wrapping around on the clock frequency for undefined behaviour.

Keep locking for SPI_LOCK_ON from the first call of transceive until
spi_release release the lock. Use owner parameter to in the spi_context
to store the owner of the lock.
The locking is in line with the SPI_HOLD_ON_CS

Function spi_context_longest_current_buf() has been introduced in
commit ddef35c1da for the purpose of
getting the longest possible (potentially partial) SPI transfer
for which all currently active directions have a continuous buffer.
Such transfer can be done with taking advantage of a DMA that cannot
use scattered buffers (and this is the case for nRF SPI drivers with
which this function has been introduced).
Unfortunately, because of its inadequate name, later on this function
has been incorrectly used in other SPI drivers for getting the longer
of TX/RX buffers. And commit afc480f12b
recently "fixed" the implementation of this function, assumably to
adjust it to those incorrect uses, but this way it has also broken
the nRF SPI drivers.
Instead of restoring the original implementation of the function in
question, this commit adds a new one with functionality equivalent
to that original but with a hopefully less misleading name, and this
function is used in the nRF SPI drivers.

Attempt to deinitialize an nrfx driver that is not initialized results
in an assertion failure reported by the driver. And such attempt could
happen in SPI shims when the power state was switched between states
other than ACTIVE.

Update hal_nordic's revision, so that NRFX_ASSERT uses __ASSERT_NO_MSG
directly, not through the assert macro that comes from from libc,
as the definition of the latter might be different when some specific
libc version is used, and this could generate troubles.
Replace also uses of assert() with __ASSERT_NO_MSG() in nrfx driver
shims that use this macro without including the corresponding header
file (i.e. that implicitly rely on assert.h being included from
nrfx_glue.h, which is no longer the case).

Update the hal_nordic module revision, to switch to nrfx 2.1.0.
Because the list of peripherals for nRF5340 has changed as follows:
- SPIM2 has been renamed to SPIM4
- SPIM2-3, SPIS2-3, TWIM2-3, TWIS2-3, and UARTE2-3 have been added
a couple of related corrections needed to be applied in dts and Kconfig
files, plus the spi_nrfx_spim driver has been extended with the support
for SPIM4.

After switching to nrfx 2.0.0, the Kconfig choice options that allowed
enabling of pull-up or pull-down for MISO lines in SPIs and SPIMs are
not properly supported, they are simply ignored. This commit restores
the possibility of applying pull configuration for MISO lines.
In earlier nrfx versions, the MISO pull configuration could be only
set globally, in nrfx_config files, for all SPI and SPIM instances
together. Since nrfx 2.0.0, this configuration can be applied per
instance. This commit takes advantage of this possibility and instead
of using a common Kconfig option as a global setting for all instances,
allows applying individual instance settings via devicetree.

This is a follow-up to commit 84f8235005.
Default initialization to 0 of the .dcx_pin field in the extended part
of the SPIM configuration is incorrect, because this means that pin 0
should be used as the D/CX line. For the SPIM instance that provides
the extended functionality, this results in undesired assignment of
the pin 0, and for the other SPIM instances, this causes that their
initialization fails with the NRFX_ERROR_NOT_SUPPORTED code.
This commit sets this field to NRFX_SPIM_PIN_NOT_USED, to indicate that
the D/CX line is not supposed to be used.

Fill the `rx_delay` field in the SPIM configuration structure only when
the RXDELAY feature is present in a given SPIM instance, to prevent
compilation errors when some other SPIM instance is enabled together
with SPIM3.

This commit introduces separate "compatible" strings for DTS nodes
representing different types of Nordic SPI peripherals. Previously
"nordic,nrf-spi" was used for both SPI and SPIM. SPIS was already
handled separately.
Quite a few files need to be touched by this commit but the changes can
be divided into groups of related or very similar ones, distinguishable
by the initial part of the path to the modified file:
* dts/bindings/spi/
new binding for "nordic,nrf-spim" is added and common fields for all
3 types of Nordic SPI peripherals are extracted to a shared file
* dts/arm/nordic/
"compatible" properties in spiX nodes are updated (when there is no
choice as only one type of SPI peripheral is available) or replaced
with a comment pointing out that the proper type of peripheral needs
to be picked at some upper layer
* drivers/spi/
spi_nrfx_spim driver is updated with the new form of macros generated
from dts
* boards/
all spiX nodes in dts files for boards equipped with an nRF chip are
updated with the proper "compatible" property, according to the type
of SPI peripheral that is currently selected for the board by the
corresponding Kconfig choice option (SPI_x_NRF_SPI*)

No functional changes to the headers.
A warning in the shim can be controlled with CONFIG_COMPAT_INCLUDES.

Add a Kconfig option to enable DMA for SPI with SOC_NRF52832 as long as
it being disabled due to Product Anomaly Notice (PAN) 58 is explicitly
overridden. This allows the SPIM driver to be enabled for the nRF52832
SoC for situations where PAN 58 is not a problem.

Rename reserved function names in drivers/ subdirectory. Update
function macros concatenatenating function names with '##'. As
there is a conflict between the existing gpio_sch_manage_callback()
and _gpio_sch_manage_callback() names, leave the latter unmodified.

All drivers require DTS for their primary SPI settings.
Removing SPI_[0-9]_NAME config option added some more samples changes.
Usage of these options there was anyway not relevant.

These changes were obtained by running a script created by
Ulf Magnusson <Ulf.Magnusson@nordicsemi.no> for the following
specification:
1. Read the contents of all dts_fixup.h files in Zephyr
2. Check the left-hand side of the #define macros (i.e. the X in
#define X Y)
3. Check if that name is also the name of a Kconfig option
3.a If it is, then do nothing
3.b If it is not, then replace CONFIG_ with DT_ or add DT_ if it
has neither of these two prefixes
4. Replace the use of the changed #define in the code itself
(.c, .h, .ld)
Additionally, some tweaks had to be added to this script to catch some
of the macros used in the code in a parameterized form, e.g.:
- CONFIG_GPIO_STM32_GPIO##__SUFFIX##_BASE_ADDRESS
- CONFIG_UART_##idx##_TX_PIN
- I2C_SBCON_##_num##_BASE_ADDR
and to prevent adding DT_ prefix to the following symbols:
- FLASH_START
- FLASH_SIZE
- SRAM_START
- SRAM_SIZE
- _ROM_ADDR
- _ROM_SIZE
- _RAM_ADDR
- _RAM_SIZE
which are surprisingly also defined in some dts_fixup.h files.
Finally, some manual corrections had to be done as well:
- name##_IRQ -> DT_##name##_IRQ in uart_stm32.c

This adds a translation layer to make the nrfx driver for the nRF SPIM
(SPI Master with EasyDMA) peripheral accessible via the Zephyr's API.
The shim is provided only for nRF52840 because of a hardware anomaly
present in nRF52832. See Anomaly 58 (SPIM: An additional byte is clocked
out when RXD.MAXCNT = 1) in Errata for this chip.
