Benedikt Schmidt 2a2919946f arch: arc: use sys_cache instead of arch-function for enabling the cache
Use sys_cache_data_enable instead of arch_dcache_enable to enable
the cache. This will ensure that CONFIG_CACHE_MANAGEMENT
is considered correctly.

Gerard Marull-Paretas a5fd0d184a init: remove the need for a dummy device pointer in SYS_INIT functions
The init infrastructure, found in `init.h`, is currently used by:

- `SYS_INIT`: to call functions before `main`
- `DEVICE_*`: to initialize devices

They are all sorted according to an initialization level + a priority.
`SYS_INIT` calls are really orthogonal to devices, however, the required
function signature requires a `const struct device *dev` as a first
argument. The only reason for that is because the same init machinery is
used by devices, so we have something like:

```c
struct init_entry {
	int (*init)(const struct device *dev);
	/* only set by DEVICE_*, otherwise NULL */
	const struct device *dev;
}
```

As a result, we end up with such weird/ugly pattern:

```c
static int my_init(const struct device *dev)
{
	/* always NULL! add ARG_UNUSED to avoid compiler warning */
	ARG_UNUSED(dev);
	...
}
```

This is really a result of poor internals isolation. This patch proposes
a to make init entries more flexible so that they can accept sytem
initialization calls like this:

```c
static int my_init(void)
{
	...
}
```

This is achieved using a union:

```c
union init_function {
	/* for SYS_INIT, used when init_entry.dev == NULL */
	int (*sys)(void);
	/* for DEVICE*, used when init_entry.dev != NULL */
	int (*dev)(const struct device *dev);
};
struct init_entry {
	/* stores init function (either for SYS_INIT or DEVICE*)
	union init_function init_fn;
	/* stores device pointer for DEVICE*, NULL for SYS_INIT. Allows
	 * to know which union entry to call.
	 */
	const struct device *dev;
}
```

This solution **does not increase ROM usage**, and allows to offer clean
public APIs for both SYS_INIT and DEVICE*. Note that however, init
machinery keeps a coupling with devices.

**NOTE**: This is a breaking change! All `SYS_INIT` functions will need
to be converted to the new signature. See the script offered in the
following commit.

Carlo Caione 4806e1087e cache: Fix cache API calling from userspace
When a cache API function is called from userspace, this results on
ARM64 in an OOPS (bad syscall error). This is due to at least two
different factors:

- the location of the cache handlers is preventing the linker to
  actually find the handlers
- specifically for ARM64 and ARC some cache handling functions are not
  implemented (when userspace is not used the compiler simply optimizes
  out these calls)

Fix the problem by:

- moving the userspace cache handlers to a their logical and proper
  location (in the drivers directory)
- adding the missing handlers for ARM64 and ARC

Patrik Flykt 4344e27c26 all: Update reserved function names
Update reserved function names starting with one underscore, replacing
them as follows:
   '_k_' with 'z_'
   '_K_' with 'Z_'
   '_handler_' with 'z_handl_'
   '_Cstart' with 'z_cstart'
   '_Swap' with 'z_swap'

This renaming is done on both global and those static function names
in kernel/include and include/. Other static function names in kernel/
are renamed by removing the leading underscore. Other function names
not starting with any prefix listed above are renamed starting with
a 'z_' or 'Z_' prefix.

Function names starting with two or three leading underscores are not
automatcally renamed since these names will collide with the variants
with two or three leading underscores.

Various generator scripts have also been updated as well as perf,
linker and usb files. These are
   drivers/serial/uart_handlers.c

Convert code to use u{8,16,32,64}_t and s{8,16,32,64}_t instead of C99

at this point. Fixup a few of the PRI formatters so we build with newlib.

David B. Kinder ac74d8b652 license: Replace Apache boilerplate with SPDX tag
Replace the existing Apache 2.0 boilerplate header with an SPDX tag
throughout the zephyr code tree. This patch was generated via a

Also updated doc/porting/application.rst that had a dependency on

Manually updated subsys/logging/sys_log.c that had a malformed
header in the original file. Also cleanup several cases that already
had a SPDX tag and we either got a duplicate or missed updating.

SECONDARY with POST_KERNEL as SECONDARY has had a longstanding bug

Chuck Jordan 381cb25f63 arc: cache.h support added for em7d and em11d SOC
An implementation to flush multiple d-cache lines has been added
per the top-level cache.h API. ZEP-1153 was opened to express
the need for MORE i-cache and d-cache APIs. For example, the current
cache.h API doesn't provide a means to invalidate d-cache lines
and has nothing for i-cache.

I've also modified some of the i-cache related aux registers to have
better names so that they won't be confused with d-cache.
These changes are for
ZEP-1176.
